Will my mobile global pass have a barcode to use on the gates in the Netherlands or do I have to order a ticket?

You can use the QR code to open them. Not all gates have barcode readers; the barcode readers have a glass plate.

If nothing works, push the "i” button on the pole next to each row of gates. Say you have an international ticket and the gate won't open. They'll open it remotely no questions asked.

It works with the gates in the netherlands. When not ask staff at the train station to open the gates.

On old-style paper passes (and I guess also with new style codes) however ONLY for a few times and few days-this has caught out many people staying a bit longer in NL. Only main stations have gates, not the smaller ones.
