I don’t know what happened but my birthyear is off by 1 year. I am already in my journey but plan to use my global pass in about 36hours. I am worried I might run into technical issues as I move from one country to another with this specific birth year detail.

I have already sent a request from customer support but as I have searched in this community it would seem help is non existent. So many have the same problem and no one really has any good news from support.

Is my journey screwed?

I’m quite certain it won’t cause any problem :

  • you have a pass (+ reservations maybe)
  • the first name and last name match
  • the day and month match

A ticket inspector won’t check all those details

Don’t worry and enjoy your trip !

99% of the time this won’t be a problem, so don’t sweat it.

When you see the ticket inspector, most of the time they just look at your pass. Very occasionally, they want to see your passport (to check you are the right person), but all they’ll do is check the name and passport number matches what’s on your railpass. They won’t check your date of birth.

So while it’s worth getting fixed, don’t worry about it if you can’t.

Are you using a youth or senior pass?
