How Can You Book?

You’ll be able to reserve seats for iryo journeys through our reservations self-service.

Seat Reservation Fees and Available Classes with the Pass

  • Singular Class: €10
  • Singular Only YOU Class: €13

Good to see that Iryo is now bookable!

The classes and names seem to have changed, with new classes from 2 October 2025.

https://iryo.eu/en/products

The Interrail site still refers to the old names - Singular and Singular Only You. Do passholders get the older terms and conditions (with baggage included, for example) or do they get the newer fare classes?

If they get the newer fare classes, how to they pay the extra baggage fee (Inicial) or free baggage reservation (Infinita)?

Singular Only You is also shown as 2nd class. Does this mean it’s bookable with a second class pass?

@ralderton I’ve updated the post and the information page on our website has also been updated. Let me know if you have any more questions :)

It now says:

Seat Reservation Fees and Available Classes with the Pass

  • Inicial: €10
  • Infinita: €13

A large suitcase or backpack is automatically included in both travel classes.

However, according to Iryo, a large suitcase cannot be added to the Inicial fare. Or is it actually the Inicial Superior? It would be great if the fare names in the booking module could also be corrected.

Still, connection from Perpignan to Madrid via Iryo is listed as not included. Is there hope for this being resolved until mid October?

Iryo pass reservations just went live.

Iryo customer services does not appear to have this information.

I emailed them just to find out about classes available to pass-holders, in case there’s an upgrade to Bistro in the style of the Railjet. The reply was short:

Regarding your enquiry, we would like to inform you that it is not possible to purchase Interrail tickets with Iryo. Thank you for contacting Iryo.

Hi there!

You might want to tell Iryo that it is now possible to travel on Iryo with Interrail. I emailed them last week in light of the message above, and just received this reply:

Good afternoon,

We regret to inform you that if you wish to travel with us, you must purchase your tickets through our app, website, or official partners.

We do not have an agreement with Interrail, so to avoid any future issues, we recommend that you purchase your tickets through the sales channels indicated above.

Who is right?

James

@Eurail Community Moderator It doesn't look good when Iryo customer service are denying that passes are valid. Could you please let Iryo know that they need to inform their customer service?

To be fair, I had to deal with Iryo customer services in the summer for a normal reservation enquiry, and their customer service seem to have fewer s***s to give than Renfe, which is saying something.

Being better than Renfe is a already low bar, which they appear to be struggling to clear.

So nine months after the announcement of “welcoming IRYO to the pass” a six months delay of the scheduled implementation it is still simply impossible to book or know what service(s) will be available.

This is an utter shambles and is a major reason not to use interrail/eurail, particularly if they allege a new innovation.  They said I would be invited to a conversation but didn’t follow it up.

I think suggesting that the lack of certainty around one operator, on routes served by another, in one country of thirty-three is “a major reason not to use Interrail” is slightly excessive. Renfe runs trains on the routes served by Iryo.

That said, I got email from support yesterday confirming that Iryo is included in pass travel and suggesting that Iryo might need a little longer to bring their customer services team up to speed. The on-board teams, however, are aware and using a pass shouljd not be cause for concern.

It is no longer impossible to book: reservations for Iryo can be made through the Interrail planner.

Hello! Thanks for the feedback. Was this conversation with CS over the phone or in person?

Also, for the sake of accuracy, it appears to be worth pointing out that this was a problem with the train operator, not with Interrail, whose support team’s interaction on the matter was top-notch. 👍

You are entitled to that opinion, the six months delay in implementation, on all Interrail/Eurrail channels including time tables it was proudly advertised as being available from 1 April, was it being all fools day a coincidence? But not introduce until 2 October with only vague platitudes on here, and nowhere else to my knowledge, to be inexcusable.

I see the self justification from the community support manager that frankly belies belief, you posted a problem post implementation that may have been solved by the Interrail support team, but it is just obfuscation regarding the major six month delay, or was that IRYO’s sole fault as well?

There is another new product, the global pass, and it was the failure of integrating IRYO that destroyed my confidence in Interrail’s ability to operate that which led to me not buying one hence “major reason not to use interrail/eurail.”

I’m pretty sure it was…

I’m imaging that an inclusion of an operator with mandatory reservations is way more challenging than one without reservations.

But I think it shouldn’t matter anymore. We probably will never know where the problem lay.

IRYO is now available but unable to purchase tickets

Only the 9:50, 13:06 and 15:55 departures seem to be unbookable on that day. The other departures can be booked. On iryo.eu all departures can be booked.

@Eurail Community Moderator What is the problem with these departures?

Apparently the issue is only with this departure time. Let me check internally.

I’ve successfully bought one Iryo seat reservation, but when I try to book one for another date it’s showing an error message. Does anyone know if this is likely to be fixed soon?

I can reproduce that for any date in the future while I haven’t bought a IRYO seat reservation so far.

@Eurail Community Moderator: Could you check this issue?

Hi @Kellykin

We’re aware of an issue that’s currently affecting seat reservations on Iryo services, and we’re in close contact with the railway company to get this sorted as quickly as possible. While this is ongoing, it may not be possible to make reservations for iryo trains through our system.

In the meantime, you might want to consider alternative options like RENFE, which are currently available and can be used with your Pass. This should help keep your travel plans running smoothly.

Thanks so much for your patience, and we’ll share updates as soon as we have them

@Eurail Community Moderator I managed to make a seat reservation a month ago but I am struggling to add a large suitcase to my reservation. I have contacted Iryo customer services and they told me that it can be done online through Trenitalia but I couldn’t find any option in Trenitalia’s web site. Is there any way to add a lugagge to your reservation?

According to the original post in this thread, a large suitcase or backpack is automatically included.
