@Eurail Community Moderator I managed to make a seat reservation a month ago but I am struggling to add a large suitcase to my reservation. I have contacted Iryo customer services and they told me that it can be done online through Trenitalia but I couldn’t find any option in Trenitalia’s web site. Is there any way to add a lugagge to your reservation?

According to the original post in this thread, a large suitcase or backpack is automatically included.

I was confused about it since it was mentioned in the post that a large suitcase is included but the table in the link from the same post was showing me something open to interpretation (below). And customer services told me that it is not included. I could not reach out customer services again and I took my chances and went to train station. There was a ticket control before train and the setup was pretty much what you are used to in an airport like staff, priority boarding, templates for luggage sizes etc. But in the end nobody checked our luggages. I’m not sure if this is the normal procedure or simply staff was not completely ready for an 06:00am early train.

We’re aware of an issue that’s currently affecting seat reservations on Iryo services, and we’re in close contact with the railway company to get this sorted as quickly as possible. While this is ongoing, it may not be possible to make reservations for iryo trains through our system.

In the meantime, you might want to consider alternative options like RENFE, which are currently available and can be used with your Pass. This should help keep your travel plans running smoothly.

Thanks for looking into this for me.  Is there any news from Iryo on when seat reservations will be available again? 

I have looked at the RENFE timetable but unfortunately the direct trains from Malaga to Barcelona are at an inconvenient time for me. I could take two trains (changing at Madrid) but that was means paying for two seat reservations.

Perhaps i’ll wait a little longer to see if Iryo seat reservations become available again..

I tried to make an interrail reservation at an iryo desk in Sevilla, they had a print out of an email saying the eurail call center should be contacted. The phone number provided was an apparently outdated renfe number however. So I guess reservations are off the table even in the stations in Spain?
