Hi my name is Katie.I am 15 and from ireland.

I am hoping to do the discoverEU travel when im 18 and in the next two years go interrailing with my family. I love train travel because it is such a peaceful and fun way to travel. And also I get travel sick on buses so trains suit me better. I haven't used interrail yet but I’m looking forward to interrailing. I love photography (INSTA : katieroisinphotography )as well as travel of course. If anyone has any questions about ireland i will do my best to answer them. I love making itineraries as well even if i dont have any immediate plans to visit the place. I can speak english irish french and a bit of german as well.

Looking forward to connecting with people and traveling :)

Hi my name is Darrell.  I am 48 and from Canada.

I have been lucky enough that my job has moved me to Europe as I am the EMEA Zone Director for our company.  As a traveling Sales person I get to go all over the place and love it.  I have been activelly travelling since 2005 all over EU, and Middle East with some trips to Asia/Australia/New Zealand.  I love all methods of travel, train, plane, car rental etc., but my favorite is Train, I always find I reconnect with people my surroundings and my schedule actually slows down (even in the fast trains :)).

I am looking forward to being part of this community and sharing my experiences, and getting help on new activites i wish to do, from those who have done them.

Cheers

Hello, my name is Ruben. I’m 24 and from the Netherlands.

I’ve travelled 3 times with interrail until now. Did my first one in 2017, and after that 2 solo trips.

I’ve been a lot to Germany, Switzerland and Czech Republic.

When I’m not traveling I’m working as salesman in the agricultural sector.

I hope to be able to help people out here and get some tips for new journeys.

Kind regards,

Ruben

Hello everyone,

Another Dutch citizen joining the platform! I'm 30 years of age and started travelling in 2017. I did a trip every year since then.

I hope I can continue this tradition again in 2021!

Helloooo everyone ! :wave_tone1:

I’m Marie, 26 years old, from Belgium. As you can imagine, I absolutely love travelling and I’m about to do my first solo trip in August ! Heading to Italy, if you have tips, I’m all ears.

I love to dance (I’m currently learning bachata and salsa, and soon contemporary dance), to do yoga, to walk in nature, to meet people, to do cultural activities (cinema, theatre) and to discover new cultures.

I’m working in the environment sector - reason why I really want to experience a train trip ! :earth_africa:

So happy to plan my trip and to join this community.

All the best.

Greetings from Glenn in the USA!!  My wife and I are both retired and are planning to tour Europe this winter. We will travel to as many countries as the 90 day limit will permit which will hopefully include The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France.

Then another two months in the UK. (Whew)

I purchased the Eurail Global Pass and will use the mobile app with both our passes on one device. I am hopeful for a stress free experience using the mobile app.

See ya down the road. 😃

Hello, This is my first time joining a social media forum. My husband and I are from the United States. We are very eager to get back out into the world! We want to spend as much time traveling as we can. We have circled the United States 5 times and been to Britain twice. We now have our minds set on Europe and train travel. We want to experience the world and other cultures. It is a learning curve we look forward to. We are also food travelers. We love to buy cook books and learn about health, nutrition and different food traditions. I am hoping to get as much advice as I can about booking and making reservations on line as I can as this is also a new adventure. We look forward to connecting with new people.:relaxed:

Hello, My husband and I are also retired and planning a Viking River cruise this August. We are also from the states. We are planning a Europe trip in the spring and are thinking about booking and down loading our passes on our devices for the first time. We wish you a stress free trip! I would love to know how it goes and if you have any tips for a fellow newbee. Holly:grin:

Hello, new to this level of train travel, and desperately trying to figure out how to put together a trip for six by rail.

Don´t worry 🙂 Let the planning doesn´t stress you 🙂 For me it´s already part of the Holiday :)
I worked few times as  seasonal Guide for some Eurail and Interrail package tour operators and had never bigger problems 🙂 (Lost once a traveler of a Group of more than 20 persons but he could take the next train just an hour later 😃 😃 ) Finally i have to say that many of them charge to much for the Tours they offer and i recommend to do it on your own with Refundable Hotel/Hostel reservations if something changes :)

Hi

I am Steve, a Brit who has lived for 20 years in Spain. I am privileged to have travelled extensively throughout the world. As soon as Covid restrictions abate, l am looking to do a 4 month Interrail (3+1). It is something of a bucket list trip and one l am looking forward to enormously.

I am a "groundhopper" (l visit football stadiums) and will visit every top division ground in the Netherlands, Romania, Italy and Spain. I will also visit many others along the way. This trip will be the backbone of two books and l will also update comprehensively my own website www.thisisspain.info

I know Spain well and am pretty knowledgeable about European and English football. If l can help in any way, please don't hesitate to shout.

Feliz viaje - Safe travels - Trevlig resa.

Hi,

My name is George and I am with a multicultural background, speaking four languages fluently.
On the paper I am American, but with a very heavy Central / East European background.
I am a computer engineer and in mid-1970-s, when I was a teen became familiar with international railway tariffs (MPT,  TCV).

I keep it up, recently more traveling by car or using EURail (can also use InterRail, by EURail is more convenient) than by calculating tariffs.

I am somewhat of a “rebel”, so don’t be surprised if my answers are more reflecting the reality on the ground than the “official” version from the owner of an office desk.

Hi everyone, it’s good to be here. I'm inspired by Greta Thunberg not to fly for the moment. I am an 84-year-young traveller, looking forward (with some trepidation given the situation) to my next 2-month trip starting September 1st.

I am British, living in France, now a Brexit expatriate! My first Interrail trip through the Balkans as far as Greece took me to 11 countries. Last year restrictions made me manage “only” five. I had wanted to go to Georgia this year, but that seems too ambitious at the moment. Any ideas about that, anyone?

I love staying in youth hostels, meeting great people and helping to bridge the generation gap.

I will probably start on September 1st with day and night trains north, straight to Copenhagen, never having visited Denmark or Scandinavia.

In addition to English, I am fully fluent in French and German and get by with Italian.

Hiya I’m Liz from the US, I’m a Southern California Girl.

I love to travel (I know a shocker there), Scuba Dive, Dance and Sing.  I’m also an animal person.  I have many of them.  Horses, goats pigs (yes in multiples), chickens, dogs, cats and an Albino Corn Snake.

I have had the travel bug since I was a child many years ago.  Until late into my 40’s I had traveled to more countries than states.  I have since rectified that :D

I love the rail system across the pond (Europe).  They are on time, many of them, easy to ride and get tickets for.  The light rail is light years ahead of us here in the US.  The fast trains are amazing.  Comfortable and VERY fast.  I remember the first time I rode on one with my husband and our fast train crossed another fast train we were just amazed.  So, in essence I love train travel.

Hello My name is Ruud. 30 years old from The Netherlands. I love travelling and really liked to do it with Interrail. In my daily life I’m an ecologist so i have a passion for nature. Second interail travel in 2018: Salzburg (Austria), Split and Kastela (Croatia), Beograd and Nis(Serbia) Thesalloniki (Greece) Skopje, Bitola and Pelister (North-Macedonia) Sofia, Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria), Timisoara (Romania), Miskolc (Hungary) Kosice, Bratislava, Tatra Mountains (Slovakia), Brno and Olomouc (Czech Republic) Dresden and Saxxon Switzerland (Germany)

I love to be part of this community and help people with travel advice and ideas. Feel free to ask.

Hello! My name is Michela and I live in Italy. In life I think I have not traveled enough... I discovered Interrail a few months ago, and I'm planning a wonderful trip for the month of January. Hoping that there are no hitches due to the health emergency... Fingers crossed for me!
I'm happy to join this amazing community 🧳

Hi, my name is Mike and I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  My wife and I are a couple of seniors who love to travel and besides travelling by train in North America we also have over 35 cruises under our belt.  My wife is originally from the UK so we have travelled there by train when visiting and by train to France and Spain.  We had purchased a Eurail pass for a trip around part of Europe last September but our plans were scuttled by Covid-19.  We received a refund and are now planning another trip.  We are cruising from Ft. Lauderdale to Southampton in March and would like to take the train from St Pancras to Brussels, Prague, Budapest, Venice, Bavaria, Amsterdam and back to London.  Considering this and all of the testing required from country to country is it doable to travel and spend a couple of days in each place before moving on? Or is the testing and forms for each country an impediment?

Hi everyone, am Azees from Singapore married with 3 lovely kids. I died in 2014 due to a freak accident but came back to life. This is my 2nd life.

I have booked my flight from Singapore to Zurich on the 3rd Dec 2021. Thereafter travelling to Paris, Berlin, Milan, Rome and back to Zurich all in 18days. We have been seating like a duck in our home town for almost 2 years. Enough is enough and its time for us to come out of our pond since the travel lanes from Singapore to Europe is now open.

So much information in the web and some are really confusing. Should I use Eurail or Swiss pass? or purchase both? Flight and hotel booked and now I need to connect all the locations via train. Seriously, am going insane. Need a helping hand here pls. Cheers all and keep safe.

Sounds like a case for Eurail, since you will also be travelling outside of Switzerland and probably mainly on the main rail routes.

Hey guys,

my name is Inês and I am originally from Portugal but I live currently in Spain! I love books and traveling and music, as well as skateboarding and swimming. I have traveled throughout Europe quite a bit and I have already done 1 interrail as a gift to myself when I graduated uni!

For me traveling by train, makes me feel relaxed and getting the chance to travel Europe while basking the marvelous views from the train window is just a plus for me. If you have never traveled through train in Austria DO IT, there are some of the best views.

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah, from Western Canada and I am passionate about seeing new places,  learning about new (to me) cultures, and trying new things. I haven't traveled nearly enough, but I am trying to remedy that.

I have never traveled before on s train (!) But I am booked for the spring to fly to Rome and plan to make my way up to Paris, by train! I have many questions, but am very excited for the adventure, experience, scenery, and wine!

Hola world

Bobbyg, from california with stays in Holland/Italy/Kuwait on business.  still loking forward for this vicious to go away so I can continue to travel Europe!

Hi fellow travellers,

my name’s Martha. I’m from Germany where I currently study. Thanks to some amazing opportunities I was able to travel quite a lot already even though my family was never able to travel when I was younger.

Last summer I did an Interrail trip to Italy and absolutely loved it! I joined this community to hear about your experience, share mine and also exchange travel advices.

My favourite thing about travelling is to wander around in places where no one knows me and everything feels exciting. Probably we should often try to see our homes with the eyes of a visitor too because as a passenger I’m able to fall in love with such small things.

hello all!

over the past 20 years or so i’ve travel for business as well as for pleasure.  nothing like traveling by rail over europe.

sitting by a fresh rushing stream and have a cocktail or two.  looking forward to sharing a little of my experiences with all of the community.

happy holidays!

bobbyg

hello, I have a few questions about the rules of home country travel (I need 3) and calculating travel days when using nightjet. Haven’t used the ticket before, but seems to make sense for a multi trip i’m planing in Germany/Italy/France this summer.

Anyway I posted a really really long question and it just disappeared - it’s not showing in my profile either. Is it just being checked by moderators and will appear later or have I lost it for good? Thanks!
