From my previous research, IC201 doesn’t require reservations for eurail users
However, my eurail app now says reservation is needed.
I want to cut the cost of reserving through eurail, and directly do it with the train company.
I saw on another community post that this can be done through db or obb website. However, both says reservations not available.
Any other way for me to make a reservation?

It has never been possible on DB. The website is a good planner for pretty much everywhere but it is only able to sell seat reservations for journeys from/to/within Germany.
It is not possible right now on ÖBB, I don't really know for what reason.
Instead use cd.cz : 73 CZK (3.1€). Let us know if it doesn't work.
I don't think seat reservations have become mandatory on this route but I may be wrong.

It's in the planners for a period of about 2 months this summer, so it looks like this has been added intentionally.
