basic question

Is my Interrail Pass generally valid for one day, or only for the trains I'm planning to take? So, if I miss a train, for example, can I just take the next one?

Your pass is valid for the trains of the participating companies on the days you make it valid for.

You're not tied to any train and you can always change your plan, also when travelling. You're only limited by trains with mandatory reservations. If you miss a train, you can take the next one. If the next one requires a reservation, and you missed it because of a delay, then speak with the staff. You should then be rebooked free of charge to the next train with seats available.

You must only make sure to log the train that you actually travel with as a journey in the Trip you have connected to your Pass in the Railplanner app and you must activate that journey before boarding the train.
