Interrail Benelux Pass not valid in some of these countries

Tanja Hebbrecht

Hi
The day before yesterday I bought a mobile Interrail Benelux Pass because I want to travel from Belgium (my country of residence) to the Netherlands 3x in the upcoming 4 weeks. I'm a Belgian Citizen.

I activated my pass like the instructions said (so it has a beginning and end date) but when I wanted to add my journey from Gavere (BE) to Breda (NL) and back, yesterday, I was not able to. The error message said my pass was not available in some of these countries.  App = Rail Planner.

So I had to buy another expensive ticket.

I really don't understand why I can't use my pass.
So now my pass is useless and I cannot apply for a refund because it’s activated.
I hope there is a solution so it’s not money down the drain.

What I want is to travel from Belgium (country where I live) to The Netherlands a couple of times.

Thanks for helping my out here and suggesting a good solution.

Have a great day,
Tanja

One country passes cannot be used in your country of residence.

The Interrail website is very clear about this so I don't think that Interrail will give you any money back.

Now in summer there are various cheap deals-just check the sites of nmbs and ns-and there is also the 2 for 1 offer for the BeNeLux train.

It is indeed a case of not having read properly the rules.

It is also much cheaper-but takes more time-to go via Roosendaal or Maastricht-as low NMBS fares to those cities also apply+small surcharge.
