Hi everyone!

I started my first backpacking trip some days ago, traveling from Stuttgart to Istanbul via Vienna, Belgrade, and Sofia. I just arrived in Belgrad and am writing this question while waiting for the metro. Since it's my first time in Serbia, I wanted to ask if anyone has any special recommendations besides the usual tourist attractions. I'm really looking forward to tips on hidden cafés, parks, or simply beautiful streets. Perhaps someone is also in the Belgrad and would like to grab a drink with me. I'm planning to stay for 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Lene

Hey @Helene Geist,

Here are a few nice spots beyond the usual tourist attractions:

  • Zemun area for riverside walks and cafés
  • Kalemegdan around sunset
  • Skadarlija for food and atmosphere
  • Tašmajdan Park for a more local vibe
  • Cetinjska Street for bars and nightlife

Also, don’t miss trying a proper burek and Serbian coffee while you’re there. Enjoy the next leg toward Sofia and Istanbul!
