Hello, I would to reach Spain from Germany (or Zurich).

I see that it is really complicated and expensive (like going to Paris and then Barcelona, paying a lot for reservations).

Somebody have experience for a cheap route?

Thank you

Yes the fast routes are extremely expensive or sold out (very high demand). Do not go via Paris

Here are some options :

- Basel/Zurich - Geneva - Lyon

- either TGV to Montpellier, Narbonne, Perpignan 10-20€ or TER regional trains via Avignon (reservation-free)

- Perpignan - Portbou - Barcelona coastal route (reservation-free)

It is a very long travel day, you could make a stop along the way, for example in Avignon

Other route :

- Germany - Offenburg

- Offenburg - Strasbourg regional train

- Strasbourg - Montpellier/Narbonne/Perpignan 10-20€ TGV

- Perpignan - Portbou - Barcelona as above

Use bahn.de for planning (you can filter trains requiring seat reservations)

It is indeed a bit complicated, but possible.
