I’m struggling finding routes which are better than standard (no reservations / scenic routes). The planner doesn’t really give me these (even with option “no seat reservations required” Does Eurail have a service to assist with this?

Try Google, look on a map (e.g. openrailwaymap or Travegeo) to see where rail lines go along a cost line, a lake, through a valley, etc. The people from the European Rail Timetable publish a map of the European rail network (a classic map on paper) that indicates scenic routes.
If you have a specific route in mind, you can also ask here.
Ga naar de site. Click of country-info. Daar vind je veel meer info zoals mooie routes, wat extra te regelen etc. OF-ga naar de bieb-kijk eens bij reisboeken-vroeger werden er talloze van die ozo leuke reisgidsjes voor wat je met die pas kan doen uitgegeven-misschien staan er nog zo wat. Of anders een 2e H winkeltje
