Dopo Londra che tappe/Città sono più belle da visitare e fermarsi?…. Vale la pena fare una traghettata fino a Dublino

You could take the Caledonian sleeper in one direction and day trains in the other? Warning: compartment reservations are very expensive.
Certainly you can get from Milan to London in time for the sleeper, so you could reach the Highlands in 1 travel day.
