Hi everyone, I am in Switzerland and want to take my son on a fun mountain day trip from Basel on saturday for his birthday. He's turning 12 and I'm looking into the different opitions glaciers, snowparks, gondolas up beautiful summits etc. what would you recommend? We have a 1rst class interrail ticket so also open to suggestions on perks and discounts it might be worth making the most of. Probably won't go skiing as it seems a bit short and pricey once you get all the equipment plus my son has only been skiing once so he'd probably have to take lessons to enjoy it. Thanks for your adice!

mmmm too many options…
- Basel - Bern - Brig (hourly RE for the old line) - Andermatt - Disentis - Chur - Basel
- Basel - Göschenen - Andermatt - Disentis - Chur - Basel
- Basel - Lucerne - 10:12 boat to Flüelen (50% Interrail discount for you, free day pass for him on his birthday!) - Göschenen - Andermatt - return via Brig or Chur
For gondolas/cable cars:
- Basel - Sargans - Pizol peak (free day pass for your son)
- Basel - Lucerne - Engelberg - Titlis
- Basel - Lucerne - Interlaken - Mürren (via Grütschalp is included in Interrail) - up to Birg
Mürren - Birg: 41.60 CHF you, 27.70 CHF him. https://schilthorn.ch/en/Infos/Timetable__and__Tariff
