Norway/Sweden from 11 to 17 february : travel mates + train in Norway ?

Hi everyone !!

I’m leaving for a 1 week interrail in Norway an Sweden (leaving from France) between the 11 and 17 of February (next week).

First, if anyone is doing kind of the same trip in the same dates, I’m flexible so we can do some of the travels together !

Second, I see that on the interrail app, even if I ask to go north going trough Norway, it always advises me to go through Sweden. Are the transports in Norway really bad / slow or it’s just the app which is just lacking some information ?

thank you for your answers and maybe see you ! 🚞

What are the routes you’re looking at in Norway that send you through Sweden? Please mention dates, traintimes and destinations, otherwise it’s hard to help :)

Just want to mention too :

French high-speed trains require seat reservations. Without one you won't be able to access the platform. Have you got one already ?

- 32€ Eurostar Paris - Cologne (only evening train available)

- 18€ TGV/ICE Paris - Frankfurt : earlier departures available on Sunday

Also possible to cross the border on reservation-free regional trains but it'll take longer.

Afterwards things will be easy until Sweden (optional reservations). In Sweden and Norway though most long-distance trains require reservations too.

Have a look at this general guide : https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

Questions welcome, we'll be happy to answer.

🚂 Here's some information about trains in Norway. If you scroll down, you'll also find inspiration for travel in Norway and Sweden: https://rail.cc/norway/xno

🚂 Check this out; it might be interesting. There's a map for Bodø and Fauske to Narvik, and it's not just by bus, but also by train: https://rail.cc/blog/bodo-fauske-narvik-bus
