Trains to Greece and Turkey

Is it true that you can't take a train from anywhere in Europe to anywhere in Greece right now? And if it is, is it then possible to get into Greece some other way with the interrail pass?

Also, is it possible to get to Turkey with the interrail pass?

If there is a rail replacement bus (this mean, a bus instead of a train) than your Interrail pass is valid, but if there is only a bus that has nothing to do with the train operator than it is not covered by Interrail (with exceptions that you can find under the pass benefits page on interrail.eu)

Some years ago, there was a train from Sofia(?), Bulgaria to Turkey. But I don’t know if due to Corona this train is still available.

At the moment there is no train from Bulgaria to Turkey. Maybe it will return with the 2022 timetable (at least it appears there), but with corona stuff it is unknown if it will really run from December on again.

Buses are running but not included in Interrail. Price is around 25€. Took a Istanbul - Sofia bus this month and it was almost fully sold out… so not really comfortable.

For Greece you could use ferries from Italy but even if they are "free" with the pass you have to pay fuel and Port taxes :/
