Hi, I’d like to travel by train from Wales to Barcelona at the end of May. I’m up for spending some nights in other cities on the journey. Does anyone know the best route and the cheapest way to do this? I’ll also take any recommendations for places to visit/hostels to stay at on the way.

Yes, since many years all Brits have been served very well by this site: seat61.com. Overviews all overland routings from UK to all EUR countries and how to book-with normal tickets or with passes. Known by all dedicated brit train users. made by the former manager of Charing X station, Mark Smith

it will not be cheap-that will be flying. On a railpass, to which this forum is dedicated, there are pretty high surcharges if you want the direct superfast trains and this €* you cannot avoid.

Hi, for inspiration, feel free to check Interrail's webiste where some itineraries are suggested: https://www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/trip-ideas. I hope that helps. Cheers, Marion
