Hello,

I’ll be starting my EuRail experience in Geneva, second week of July and I have 4 days to get to Paris.

I am not a big city fan, and would just like to get in all the best trains routes.

Rough plan is:

Golden Pass

Gotthard Panorama

Bernina

Glacier Express

Is it too much?

What should I not miss, if I need to drop some routes?

As long as you don’t have to go back to Geneva every night, it’s fine.

Itinerary would be something like:

  • DAY 1: Geneva - Brig - Andermatt - Disentis - Chur
  • DAY 2: Chur - Tirano - Bernina Express bus to Lugano (16 CHF, book in advance)
  • DAY 3: Lugano - Lucerne (make sure it’s written Gotthard Panoramastrecke) - Interlaken
  • DAY 4: around Interlaken - Montreux - Lausanne - Paris

Or the other way around… a rough idea at least.

Book ASAP if you’d like to travel on the Glacier Express and the Bernina Express panorama carriages. They are likely sold out for July but you don’t lose anything by taking the hourly regional trains along the same route. Less busy, sometimes pull-down windows, reservation-free,… :)

Thank you very much!

Is there wifi (not data signal) on any of these?

I have the 1st class pass, does that make any difference?

Wifi almost never. However data signal is very good across the country.

1st class is usually empty (2nd class tickets are expensive enough for most people) except on the touristy trains such as the Glacier Express (1st class is fuller than 2nd). Another reason for the regional trains haha :)
