Why do Lumo trains not appear in searches?

Apparently there are no reservations available back to Edinburgh from London Kings Cross on August 22nd with LNER. Lumo may have availability but their services are not listed in the app. Fine to chance it on either with my pass but not having the full picture is inconvenient.

They’re not sold out on LNER. It’s just too early to make a reservation. (Even though Advance tickets are on sale, these are ‘early bird’, and I guess they haven’t opened general reservations yet.) And reservations are optional, no matter what Rail Planner says!

I’ve never seen Lumo missing in the data either. Which departure specifically are you looking at?

Maybe Lumo were late publishing their timetable for your date. The Rail Planner app is quite late with timetable updates so that doesn't help. That's also one of the reasons it should never be used to plan. Use national planners to plan, e.g. National Rail in the UK. Only use the Rail Planner app to manage your pass, e.g. to add trains you want to use. Any train you can’t find can be added manually, although often the timetable will be up to date on the day itself.

Cheers, although having easily made a reservation for August 3rd a couple of weeks ago I was under the impression that three months was still the release point. I'll either just wait a bit longer or call in at a booking office and sort it that way.

It’s 12 weeks, ‘ish’, but can get shorter. I doubt a ticket office will be able to do it if they’re not on general sale yet, but you don’t have to do that.

Wait a week or two. Even a month or two. They’re not going to suddenly sell out. And there are always unreserved seats anyway.
