London to Marseille is at the moment 287 € per Person return 2md class (already bookable; may be booked together). Using OUIGO, you’d just have a longer stopover in Lille at the way to Marseille (nearly 2 hours). Thanks Hektor, what site do you book that journey on? Perhaps not bookable for May 25th yet though?
Thank you everyone, very helpful. I hadn’t thought about the reservations form Lille being more expensive… Quite a minefield for short break!
Thanks, yes, I think return via Paris might be easier, more options. Taking the eurostar around 2 or 3pm to London, then onto Stroud - back in time for kids to sleep and go to school on Monday morning! And yes, we’ve planned a day trip to Marseille during our week.My aim is to buy the pass today if it seems like the right thing to do, to avoid the cost hike which might happen tomorrow!
Excellent - thank you and happy new year for tomorrow!
We travelled from near Munich to Dijon last year. So if I reverse it for you it was:Dijon - Mulhouse ville (1h 16m)Mulhouse Ville - Basel (23m)*Basel - Zurich (1h 14m)Zurich - Munich (3h 42m) *OrBasel - KarslruheKarlsruhe to Munich(this is may be quicker than via zurich)
Thank you. We’re thinking of getting the Eurostar from Paris at 16.05.I’d not seen the 9.26 from ciotat so thanks for that. so the journey is looking like this - does it look ok? Sunday 2nd Junela ciotat 9.26 arr marseille 9.58 dep marseille 10.45 arr paris 13.50 Eurostar dep paris 16.05 arri london 17.35 dep london 18.30 arr stroud 19.56
That plan looks sound. Thank you!
13th of March normally. Thank you, good to know, gosh it’s later than I thought it would be.
Will do ! Thanks.
Thanks everyone, quite an annoying mystery when things don’t tally!I’ve booked seats on the 9.03am from Marseille and then, as you say, I can always swap them if the other one appears. It gives us a couple of extra hours in Paris for lunch anyway!
We did a similar trip last year (with 2 children aged 11 and 14). We got the sleeper from Brussels to Vienna then Vienna to Munich and then south to the lakes (Ammersee). From there to Dijon (travelling through Switzerland). Back to Uk via Paris.Good luck!
Great, thank you.
Thank god for that, I thought they’d changed the timetable! Thank you for allaying my fears.
