Question about Eurail Global Pass

First time traveller and a little confused!

My initial understanding was that the Eurail global pass would cover my travel throughout Europe EXCEPT for Switzerland (where I thought I’d have to buy the Swiss travel pass separately). But upon research, it seems that I am able to travel within Switzerland with the global pass, but want to confirm.

I’m going to post my itinerary below (June 11-24). My overall question is - will the EUrail global pass work for travel between these destinations?

Rome → Zurich → Lucerne → Interlaken → Bern → Cologne → Amsterdam → Brussels → Paris

Thank you so much!

Hi,

yes is included. The only difference between Eurail Global Pass and Swiss Travel Pass is that with the Global Pass only trains (plus rail replacement bus and a BLS boat) are included and you get discount for some touristic railways and cablecars.

With the Swiss travel system also local transport like bus, tram and more boats are included.

Keep in mind that some trains require a seat reservation on top of the pass.
