Activation of interrail pass (outbound trip)

Hey Community

I have a question regarding the outbound trip. My  country of residence is Denmark. But on my first day of traveling I will be in Germany. Therefore, I booked a train ticket (outbound) from Denmark and through Germany. Is it possible to take the train from a train station in Germany or do I have to activate the interrail pass on the train while being in Denmark?

So does the interrail pass require activation (use of train ticket) in the country of residence?

You don't have to use the outbound and/or inbound travel day if you don't need to so you can activate your pass in Germany.
