Bonjour, je voudrais aller à Rome avec ma famille en partant de France. Est-ce que je dois prendre le pass 1 pays ( Italie)? Ou le pass global ?
Les tarifs en train sont 3 fois plus chers qu'en avion. C'est insensé.
Je ne suis pas sûre que le pass me revienne moins cher pour 4 que de prendre une carte avantage à la SNCF. Difficile de se faire une idée réelle du prix. Je trouve ça compliqué.
Vous auriez des conseils à me donner ?

A one country pass is only valid in 1 country. From France to Italy, you'll need global passes.
If you're only doing a return trip to Roma, buying normal tickets may be cheaper. That depends on what the normal prices are.
With passes, you'll also need reservations for the high speed trains in France and Italy, which will cost extra. Children below 12 get a free pass though and only need to pay reservations.

Hint: beside that national pride-and often on strike=grëve, SNCF there are now also trains by TrenItalia from Paris-via Lyon-to Torino-Milano, partly also as TGV=haute vitesse. Maybe cheaper as unknown/distrusted by many francais. These cartes are NOT valid on them!
Yes even in that hexagone a flight can be cheaper, but much less flexible as these TGV: like Bordeaux-Strasbg for just 19€-so there is again something for your govmt to rule out!
