Eurail Reservation Charges

Does anyone know if eurrail’s reservation service charges more than if I were to reserve elsewhere (like at a train station or at another website?) On that note, what’s the cheapest way I can make seat reservations? Do I need to make reservations to travel on the golden pass scenic train from lucerne to interlaken in switzerland? What about travel from places like bern to paris, paris to brussels, and bruges to amsterdam?

Lucerne to Interlaken: reservation possible but not necessary.

Bern to Paris: depends on the trains you want to take.

Paris to Brussels: the direct Thalys requires a quite expensive reservation, check here:

Bruges to Amsterdam: can be done reservation-free using intercity trains.

Hi yes it is well known, they ask 2 EUR on top of the reservation fee. And for trains with optional reservations they ask 6 EUR (+2 EUR) instead of what others aks for like ÖBB 3 EUR, DB 4,50€ or MAV 1 EUR.

Here the community we made a tutorial with tips about it:
