Hi! I'm planning to travel from Zurich to Ljubliana at the end of April (and then return to Zurich a week-ish later). I want to get a bed in a shared compartment for this journey. Do these fill up fast? Should I book now, a month in advance, or can I wait until a week or two prior to my departure date?

The night train is still running despite the engineering works (that's what ÖBB told me). It is rerouted I believe.
You should buy the night train as soon as booking is available, it can fill up fast
