Using the Rail Planner app to check timetables is a bad idea. Please never do that. It's incomplete, often out of date and sometimes has issues with trains the are joined or split during the journey. Instead use the operators’ planners. bahn.com is generally quite good for international journeys

If you want advice, then please mention your travel date and what "better” means for you.

DB seems to be constantly changing schedules so it’s a bit not super easy to follow and stay up to date with news? What are the most stable lines?

also if I have a reservation in Germany can I use it for a following similar train? Or only that individual train, in case I cannot make it on time due to reschedule

@jkone27 In terms of night trains, there is one from Zürich to Amsterdam, which might be an option for your return journey.

The reservations are not mandatory for the ICE in Germany. So you can take any ICE, just add it to your pass and activate the journey.

The international one from the netherlands to Germany requires a reservation (atleast during the summer)

Suggestions for tomorrow morning I am at 8 at amstel station and need to reach Munich HBf. It’s a bit confusing, Is Dutch NS international also reliable to verify a journey is running and before adding it? Or only DB? Thank you 

Not sure about the NSI app: I rarely use it.

I generally only trust apps/planners for their “own” country. Usually the NS app (or “Rijden de treinen") for the Netherlands, DB Navigator app (and bahn.expert) for Germany, ÖBB Scotty for Austria, etc. Apps may also contain timetables from other countries, but not all are very good outside their own countries. DB, ÖBB, SBB and ČD are also quite good outside their own countries, but especially for real-time information you can't beat the source.
