Hi everyone,  I read somewhere that the train from Turin to Aosta in Italy is closed now.

Can someone confirm this, or have more information please?

I don’t know what the normal operation is, but right now there’s trains to Ivrea, then a Trenitalia bus to Aosta.

The timetables are in the Railplanner, and your pass is valid on these buses.

Yes they are electrifying the line until late 2026. In the meantime buses are running.

As ralderton said, your pass is valid on them so don't worry about that.

hello all, first post on this forum. I’m looking to travel from Torino Porta Nuova to Aosta in May 2025 with my family. The Railplanner app (iOS) shows Torino > Ivrea as normal but then says seat reservations are required from Ivrea to Aosta for the Trenitalia bus. Is that how it appears for other people on Railplanner?I have the whole journey added to My Trip in Railplanner so hopefully that’s all I need to do. Even if I wanted to book reservations, there is no way to do it currently through Railplanner app or OBB website. Thank you community

That's simply incorrect. Those buses replace regional trains and can't be reserved.

@Eurail Community Moderator All replacement buses Ivrea-Aosta have mandatory reservations in the rail planner app. This should be corrected. A second problem is that the app often lets you wait more than an hour in Ivrea because it thinks 9 minutes is not enough to change. This should also be corrected. See trenitalia.com: 9 minutes are enough.

I just want to add that this wrong information about seat reservations on replacement busses in Italy is also shown on other routes like Buonconvento - Grosseto (I took this bus two days ago and was also confused for a moment).

Thanks rvdborgt and eurocity101 for the helpful information

Thanks for bringing this up @rvdborgt !

Also @eurocity101 thanks for informing us

These issues have been reported, and hopefully it will be revised in one of the next app updates
