I have been wanting to book the high speed Florence - Milan train in August but they do not seem to be running after the 6th. Does anyone know if there planned engineering works affecting this line? I have tried to find out but thought I would ask on here as I’ve not had much luck.

Trains on this line should definitely run in the middle of summer.
Book trains in Italy and many other countries through tickets.oebb.at (Austrian Railways), no booking fee. Add Interrail/Eurail as a discount and select one-way tickets.

There can be works on the line, but don't have to. If there are works the trains will run via the old line with lower speeds. The timetable will be updated soon, can be between now and in 2 months :).
