Booking a couchette on night train from Paris to Nimes

I’ve just booked the night train from Paris Austerlitz to Nimes. I have a 2nd class 4 day interrail pass but I would like to get a bed in one of the cabins on the night train. How do I upgrade?

The Interrail booking website (not recommended) still has a problem that you can't see what you're booking:

These reservations should be fully refundable, except for the booking  €2 fee.

The best place to book these is raileurope.com (use "Add rail pass”), which has no extra booking fee.

Where did you make the reservation?

You should be offered the choice between seats or couchettes at the time of reservation. If it wasn’t offered, perhaps they’re sold out.

Mention your date, and someone can check.

Depending on where you made your reservation, you should be able to change it.
