Hi I am trying to book a train from Paris to Florence via Milan Central  on 20 August.  I have managed to buy Paris to Milan but can’t get any for Milan Centrale to Firenze.

I just get “No price results were found.  Pass holder seats may be sold outdoor this connection but there may be other ways to check for available seats”.

Does this mean that they are definitely not available as Interrail?

Are there any other ways to secure a Interrail qualifying seat?

Thanks

The Interrail website never says reservations are sold out. It's also really not the best place to book. In general, use this page as a guide:

https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

Reservations are open on raileurope.com and tickets.oebb.at. The latter one is cheapest in this case. Add the Interrail/Eurail discount and do NOT check "Seat reservation only”.

If that doesn't work for you, then which departure time are you trying to book?
