In Athens to Thessaloniki, eurail states that it needs to reserve seats. Its website cannot reserve. And its how to ask us to book online. Then it's local train web site doesn't have this pass actually. So you MUST go to the train station counter for this. I dont understand how difficult it is to update this piece of important nformation in nowadays information world. It can be very hectic to find it out. So just a tips for the others.

Where does the Eurail website ask you to book online? Could you give the URL?

Also check how to book via the contact form on the Greek railways website:

Railways often still think the other way around: it is self-evident that one has to go to a station, talk with a really working staff-member at a counter to have things organised-simply buy the ticket or other functions around it. All these newbees grown up with allonthefone have to get used to how things work in the world!
