Hi My Eurail journey between Genoa and Milan is via Torino. I have 20 minutes to change stations in Torino between P.Susa to P.Nuova. Is this enough? Is the Metro the best option to connect? As an alternative are there likely to be plenty of taxis available outside P.Susa station around 1:30 pm in the afternoon or will there be long queues? Any advice from people who have travelled this route would be greatly appreciated. We will be travelling on a Monday in September.
This makes no sense to go via Torino. There are direct train between Genova (the italian city on the coast) and Milano, with regionale veloce (RV - regional express) without reservations and also long distance trains like Intercity (IC - 3€ reservation) or Freccia and Eurocity (high speed trains - 10€ reservation. On this leg they they have the same time as IC and and the RV some minutes slower). Look for your timetable on trenitalia.com or for almost all trains in Europe bahn.com.
Or do you plan extra the route via Torino?
Thanks Angelo,
We had booked seat reservations through Eurail.com a couple of months ago and Torino was the only option at the time. Based upon your recommendation we have now re-booked through trenitalia.com and the route is much more direct without the need to change stations. We are travelling from Australia and still getting our heads around the Italian train system. Many thanks for your advice.
