I am trying to book the 01:06 Offenburg to Hanau Hbf, on the 8th August (as shown in image). All signs point towards it being available, but when i reach a certain page it tells me the reservation ‘cannot be made’. Can someone help me find this trip elsewhere or diagnose the issue? Please!

Just to be clear, this is seating only, not booking the train itself.

There seems to be something up with that train. Tried it too on DB and ÖBB.

But the IC part does not have mandatory seat reservation and i would not expect them to be busy at that time.

The only trouble is, i can only find this as Nightjet on my interrail app, and that says seat reservations are necessary to board. Do you think i can just turn up to the IC carriage with no seat reservations?

I would add the correct train manually with the IC60470 number. (The IC60470 is the part made up of SBB carriages)

I'm not sure what the problem is there, but seat reservations currently don't work anywhere.

If you're close to a ticket office, then ask there.

And that will not demand a reservation correct?

I’m afraid i’m not near a ticket office. Would it be best to eyeball it and hope that the IC won’t need reservations?

IC 60470 does not have a mandatory reservation listed in the DB Navigator and since in Germany the IC is operated by DB Fernverkehr that should be the most accurate information.

Personally I’d keep checking DB Navigator for timetable changes. It isn’t unknown that they have to skip a few stops at night due to last-minute works on the line...

This could explain why reservations are unavailable.

The timetable seems to be already changed to the Route via Singen instead of the usual Route via Basel. (because of the construction works between Basel and Offenburg)

Weirdly enough the train did not even show up at all in the booking system of ÖBB (not even the NJ part of it) despite it showing up in their route planner.

Interesting, what do you propose I do? Do i just hope it works out and keep an eye through the interrail app, or look for a new train (probably with many more stops unfortunately)

To be certain that the IC 60470 is running from Zurich, ask both SBB and DB about it. If it's running, then that means reservations are currently closed and there will probably be lots of free seats.
