Difference between websites eurrail / interrail for booking for 2 pers.

Good afternoon,

We have an interrail pass 1° class. I want to make reservations for me and my partner. His name I’ve also added in my “travel trip”. But … normally I book everything via interrail.eu. But there keeps popping up the result only for 1 traveller. But when I go to eurrai.com I can book as well, and there is popping up automatically the info for 2 pers.
What is the reason for this? And does it make a difference if I book via EUrrail or Interrail?
(I”ve screenshots but we can’t add this on this forum).

Thanks for your support!

I don't know. Perhaps you should try to add the second traveller with pass number, etc.

Otherwise my main advice would be to avoid interrail.eu for reservations. The website charges extra, is unreliable and doesn't have seat selection. Meanwhile booking through the railway companies directly (or Rail Europe for France/Italy) is usually better.

Have a look at https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

What specific route are you looking for? It might be cheaper to book via another company if you get trouble via interrail/eurail!

in general there isn’t a difference other than in the pass itself, the reservations are not specific to nationality.

Not my first time. So seat 61 is already for long time my favorite 👍. And my partner is added as you described. That's why I don't understand it. One needs interrail site for Pontevedra - Madrid for instance. Not possible on other sites as far as I know (railrurope, happyrail, and of course not RENFE).

Don't understand why interrail gives me only the 1-pers. option though in my trip the two of us are included.

Mmmm then book via Eurail if it works for 2. Or book on interrail but you'll likely sit separately. Perhaps the bug will be fixed soon (if it's one).

Otherwise look how many seats are left on renfe.com/RENFE app (deep in the booking process) and if the train is pretty empty book at a Spanish station when you're there.
