Different info on the website and the app

Hi guys!

I’m trying to make a reservation for a train ticket from Raciborz (17:14, 08.07.2023) to Prague Hlavni Nadravi (21:45, 08.07.2023). The Interrail website tells me that no reservation is required, but I can make one if I want a place, and the Rail Planner app tells me that a seat reservation is required.

  • Which one is true?
  • How can I make a reservation? There’s no button anywhere to do it.

Thanks a lot for your help from advance!

This is your connection?

Raciborz - Chalupki 17:14 - 17:28

Chalupki - Praha hl. N. 17:42-21:48

The first train isn't reservable, second train can be reserved at https://www.cd.cz/en/spojeni-a-jizdenka/api-hp/#hledej

Add interrail as discount in the passenger details. For about 73 CZK (€3) you'll have a seat reservation.

This is in fact 1 through carriage, between Kraków and Bohumín in TLK34004/R 212 and between Bohumín and Prague in IC 112:

https://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/vlak.php?zeme=PKPIC&kategorie=PKPIC:TLK&cislo=PKPIC:212/34004/5|%C4%8CD:212&rok=2023

TLK in Poland has optional reservations, and the same is true for R and IC in Czechia. PKP agrees with that. What the rail planner app says is irrelevant because it is unreliable.

Unfortunately, this through carriage is not correctly displayed in most planners, so you can't book a reservation for the whole journey. But as far as I can see, it's optional and if you want one, buy it at a ticket office in Poland.
