Hi,

I just booked tickets from copenhagen-hamburg the 27th of july.

On the ticket it says that it needs to been printed out, and are not possible to show on a screen...

But is that really true nowadays? There is a qr code so it should be fine to use on phone right? Or what is your experiences with that in europe?

Thanks

Also in general, is Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Italy ever in need of a printout?

I'm not aware of any day trains where you need to print the reservation. Only for some night trains it's required, or a good idea.

Night train or day train? For night trains I print them out, as staff sometimes keeps your ticket for the night upon inspection.

For daytrains a pdf, with qr-code on a phone screen is perfectly fine.
