Do I really not need to make a reservation for this train?

This is a nighttrain from Basel to Amsterdam, it says that a reservation is not required, but everywhere online I see that every night train needs a reservation including this route. I can't make a reservation for this train online, the interrail site just freezes and nowhere else can I make a reservation for this train specifically. Can I just appear there and walk in with just my interrail pass? I really don't want to figure this out on the night itself. Thank you!

Reservation is optional for the seats, which run as a regular IC, attached to the NJ. If you want to use a couchette or sleeper, then you have to book a reservation.

If you want a seat reservation, you can book on tickets.oebb.at.

Ignore the Interrail booking website for reservations if possible. Use this page as a guide:

That will also save you money.
