My daughter 23F and I 61M are traveling to Munich/Salzburg/Vienna in late June/early July.  I am trying to determine what type of tickets I need for the rail from Munich to Salzburg and then Salzburg to Vienna.  Any thought or suggestions?

If you have Eurail passes, then those are your tickets. You don't need any other tickets for trains included in your passes. You may need reservations for some trains, see:

Reservations Munich-Salzburg-Vienna are optional, and partly not even possible, depending on the exact train.

If you are looking to purchase normal tickets buy them from for DB(German railway) or ÖBB(Austrian railway). The earlier you book the cheaper the tickets are for non flexible tickets (except regional train tickets as those have a fixed price)

If your only looking at 2 journeys an eurail pass makes no sense for you or is this part of a longer trip you are doing with eurail and you are actually looking for reservations?
