Eurocity train 44 unavaible

I’m trying to book the Eurocity 44 train in 25/april/2025, but the train does not show up on that schedule day. Is there any reason for this?

Part of the route is closed for engineering works. Buses are running between Milano Centrale (western side of the station) and Domodossola. The 16:00 bus connects to the EC44 in Domodossola.

Seat reservations are required and cost 3€. They are available at Italian and Swiss stations but I’m not aware of online options (Rail Europe doesn’t work). Alternatively a ticket costs 16€.

Please mention exact route, departure and arrival stations and time to get a proper answer on this one. (There’s more than one EC44)

Seems like engineering works, there’s a part with a replacement bus. The train only starts in Domodossala at 18h48, doesn’t start from Milan.

If possible, you can leave earlier. If you take regional trains to Lugano and switch there to domestic Swiss trains. With a couple of changes and without reservation cost you’ll end up in Genève.

Use www.sbb.ch/en to plan this route.
