Eurostar Cancellation and Rebooking

Hi,

My eurostar train reservation made through the interrail website has been cancelled, I was notified by Eurostar and given the option to rebook, I have rebooked my ticket on the Eurostar app for another time tomorrow (Fri 11th) but the reservation is not showing on the reservations overview on the Interrail website. Is my reservation still going to work?

I'm concerned as I couldn't see any through the Interrail website as it said it was full for pass holders but could through the Eurostar one.

Changes made on the Eurostar website/app will not feed back to Interrail.

As long as you can generate a boarding card from Eurostar you are fine, just remember to add the new train to your pass before checking in..

Thanks! When you say to add the train to my pass, is this through the Internet Planning App?

Only reservations booked via Interrail (not recommended) are shown in the Interrail reservations overview. Since you rebooked via Eurostar, your reservation will not be visible there. Since reservations are separate from the pass anyway, this is fine.

Pass reservations can be booked anywhere you like. For the best ways to book them, use this page:

https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

It's usually cheaper than via Interrail, since Interrail has a €2 extra booking fee per person and train.

Rebooking after a cancellation is always free of charge and may not use any pass holder quota. Any free seat must be available to book in such a case. That's why you didn't see free seats in the normal reservations module, but could rebook via Eurostar.

If you could not rebook for the same day as your original reservation, and you now need to pay for extra accommodation (basically you're then stranded), then Eurostar should organise that. Or if they don't, you can claim a refund of any reasonable accommodation costs after the journey via their customer service, or via Interrail.

You can also claim compensation for delay from both Eurostar (on the reservation) and Interrail (on the pass), if the cancellation means you are at least 1 hour delayed.

That is in the Rail Planner app. You should add all trains you use there.

Thanks, I didn't realise that the pass holder quota may not apply to rebooking due to cancellations, this was the source of my confusion.
