I am going on an eurotrip with my girlfriend but i am running into a few problems. one of them is reserving a train seat. When i try to reserve one i get one of two messages.
-sold out
the other is
-Too early to check for seats.
Start checking 150 days before this journey's departure or search for an earlier date.
Today i tried buying tickets for the 7th of august but i think i was too late. I want to know what i can do so i wont have a problem.

It tells you where best tl book. Usually not via Interrail, who are more expensive, have strange error messages every now and then, and have artificial booking horizons.
If this page doesn’t work for you, or if you have questions about a specific reservation, then we need at least route, date and departure time.
7/8 is unlikely to be too late. More probably you're too early.

Are there any alternatives in case the seats for pass holders sold out?

Also please note that limited pass holder quota only exist for Eurostar (all routes) and TGV from/to Brussels.
Paris to Barcelona for that date should open tomorrow. Best place to book is www.raileurope.com.
