Me and my five friends are arriving to Milano Centrale at about 10.20 today. We have made reservations for Bernina Express from Tirano at 14.24. Do any of you have any recommendations how we can get to Tirano in time? We have discovered that the direct train between Milano and Tirano that we have saved to out Interrail-app, is no longer existing. Please help!!

Which train are you on? Try to run for the 10:20 train to Lecco (should be on platform but double check in half an hour). There catch the replacement buses.

The line north of Lecco is closed for 3 months. I guess timetables weren't correct when you added the journey. That's why I don't do it so far in advance. ;)

If you cannot make the 10:20, take the following train to Lecco and then bus to Tirano. The Bernina Express reservations will be lost but at least there are hourly regional trains on the same line!

The 10:20 is announced from platform 6. The best is usually to sit at the front of the arriving train.

There's also a station tunnel that may be useful, depending on where you arrive.

The next possibility is at 10:43 via Monza and Lecco. See trenitalia.com or the Trenit app.
