we missed the night train last night (train announced late and in the end it arrived 1 hour early and was announced only one minute before its arrival at the platform!) in short! we are stuck in Hamburg and impossible to find a train to go to Stockholm: reservation required and full trains. I try to look via the deutsche bahn application but impossible to enter the interrail passes. we are this close to returning to France! can someone help me find a solution? thank you

First things first, if you're at Hamburg Hbf right now: go speak to staff on platform 8. They are likely to let you hop on the EC to Copenhagen as soon as you explain the situation (or say that your previous train was late).

(Obviously you might be standing but I think you don't care at this point.)

I'll also look at other options and update this post.

Seat reservations are available on bahn.com/DB Navigator (without entering your Interrail pass -> it's the same process with a pass or a ticket). However all the trains are full as it's peak season. Fortunately there are reservation-optional alternatives across Denmark like:

- RE Hamburg Hbf - Flensburg 09:43 - 11:40

- IC Flensburg - Fredericia 12:50 - 14:14

- IC Fredericia - Copenhagen 14:23 - 16:26

Then from Copenhagen it's a bit more complicated as the high-speed trains require reservations. First cross the Öresund with any train (they are frequent) :

- Copenhagen - Malmö C any time

- have dinner

- night train Malmö C - Stockholm C 22:30 - 05:48 (you can stay onboard until 7am) -> 230 SEK (20€) for a couchette

How many people are you?

Feel free to ask anything!

Option 2 if they let you hop on the EC:

- any train Copenhagen - Malmö

- X2 Malmö C - Nässjo C 17:07 - 19:01 65 SEK (5.60€)

- X2 Nässjo C - Stockholm C 20:02 - 22:38 65 SEK (5.60€)

Otherwise unless staff allows you onboard another train you'll have to wait until Monday in Malmö.

Where are you now? We might be able to help.
