I’m travelling from Lake Bled to Split in July and I planned to take a late train from Lake bled to Zagreb, Lujibliana or basically anywhere in Croatia that has night trains to Split but I’m struggling to find how to buy the tickets.

When I looked on the eurail website before there were options that I could take and it said that I would be able to book seats 2 month before my journey. However, when I went back to the eurail website to book the train (because its now in 2 months) the page said that they couldn’t display any prices. I thought that maybe they still have not released tickets but when I searched up on the train providers website there was no night trains from Zagreb to Split on the timetable even though on their website they have information that in the summer months there is a night train from Zagreb to Split everyday and they also have a price list but no way to book. I don’t know what to do about this train as I have not booked accommodation for this night and I was planning to sleep on the train. how do I book a night train from Zagreb to Split? or if this is not possible is there anywhere else i could travel to from Lake Bled to take a night train to Split?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Croatian trains are usually available 2 months in advance. However I cannot see any for July yer on hzpp.hr. I guess there are some uncertainties due to engineering works or something.

Once released, regular tickets will be available on hzpp.hr for 21€ (couchette). Interrail passholder reservations are not available online -> you should email rezervacije@hzpp.hr or buy at a counter.

However since tickets are reasonably priced, I'd save the trouble and just get one online (not using my pass).

On certain days there is a Vienna - Split night train stopping in Graz (10pm) or Maribor (11pm). However it is terribly expensive, even for passholders and mostly sold out throughout July. Have a look on nightjet.com but I don't think it will be a viable option.

In addition, Lake Bled - Zagreb trains have optional reservations. Usually plenty of seats. I'd get the afternoon EC Sava* rather than the evening EC Mimara, having dinner in Zagreb.
