Made reservations on Eurostar for wife and me. System assigned seats automatically and we are not sitting side by side as desired.
Tried to book on TGV and found I could no preselect seats when reserving.
What gives?

Hi Rocco, I'm sorry to hear that the system didn't give you two seats next to each others. Eurostar reservation can be a bit tricky, but at least you secured two seats. Once a train maybe you can try to switch places with the people who will be sitting next to you and let the ticket inspector know? Cheers,
For Eurostar, you can change seats after booking:
Go to www.eurostar.com, click Manage booking, enter your booking reference & last name, when your booking appears click Change seats and select your preferred seats from a Eurostar seating plan. The Eurostar website will email you another ticket showing your new seat.
When I went to Manage Booking it only gave me option to change meals
