If I don't have a seat reservation, how do I know we're I can sit??

In trains with optional reservations, there is usually an indication on/above/next to the seat (sometimes on the window) from where to where it has been reserved.

In trains with optional reservations, there is usually an indication on/above/next to the seat (sometimes on the window) from where to where it has been reserved.
