Is possible that sometimes the interrail says that a reservation for a seat is mandatory but in reality we don’t need it?

Hi! Is possible that sometimes the interrail says that a reservation for a seat is mandatory but in reality we don’t need it? Like for example, I buy my reservation seat at a main station and they tell me that with interrail i don’t have to buy it( but my interrail app says it is necessary to buy it. Is this happen also to you, how you know when is in reality necessary and when not?

Thanks!!

Happend few times to me :)

Especially on the International Trains from/to Budapest (Vienna/Prague/Berlin)

International Journeys no reservation needed (domestic within Hungary reservation needed)

Or the Railjet/Eurocities from Germany/Austria to North Italy :) (here you have to pay a surcharge but doesnt need a reservation)

There are even more examples

I trust the local railapps more the magic words for Reservations is reservation compulsory & "GlobalPrice" this means to 99% you need a reservation  as Railpass User :)
