Hi all. My friend and I are traveling from Lisbon to Madrid on the 11th of July. I see there are no train times available yet (probably because it is far in advance) but can we expect there to be a train (+-9 hours) on that day? Or is it a more viable option to find alternative transport.

There haven’t been direct train services from Madrid to Lisbon for a while, it is possible to travel via connections although when I last looked they are not on the rail planner.  Either go north then a connecting train from Vigo to Porto (local train) then Porto to Lisbon.  Or west to Badajoz, cross border there and direct to Lisbon.  Some sections may not be covered by pass and you may need to search on RENFE (Spanish railways) or Portuduese railways for trains.

There are no direct trains linking Lisbon and Madrid but there are 2 daily connections via Badajoz, these are in the rail planner but not yet for July, check a closer date for the times, they are unlikely to change much if at all.
