Hello. My wife and I have Eurail passes for September and one of the routes that we want to take is Lucerne to Interlaken Ost. When I checked the Eurail website yesterday it directed me to the Zentralbahn website to buy a reservation. Today, it says a reservation is not necessary. The Zentralbahn website is saying that only 6 reservations are left on the 9:06 train, and none at all on the 8:06. The price of a reservation (not a ticket) from Lucerne to Interlaken is CHF 58, which seems like a lot. My question is do I really need a reservation, and if not, could I travel on a train that says that no reservations are left? In other words, are they selling a limited number of reservations, but there are still many other seats available. Thanks for any help

A reservation is indeed not necessary on this train. Most seats are unreserved so you find a seat almost surely.

You don't need a reservation. Only part of the seats can be booked, so there will always be free seats.

@Colinm85

And choose a seat on the right in direction of travel if possible.
