Lyon to Turin

I’m trying to book Lyon Par Dieu to Torino Porta Susa on 3 September (having already paid/booked reservations from the UK to Lyon via Lille Europe since the whole journey from the UK to Turin was showing as bookable on the Interrail app) but there sees to be no way to reserve on the 17.20 Freccia Rossa (direction Milano)! I’ve found posts on here from 3 years ago saying Frecciaitalia trains to/from Paris are not part of the Interrail network and that many on here were pressuring trenitalia to change this. Is it possible now? Did you succeed?Since I’ve already booked the other reservations (Eurostart and snc from Lille to Lyon) , I now risk losing money if I can’t book the last leg of my journey (Lyon-Turin) 😯

These trains should become accessible for passholder by mid-summer as stated in the railplanner app. But I have never seen any other information about the validity of Interrail/Eurail passes on these trains elsewhere.

@Eurail Community Moderator Do you have more information about the validity of Interrail/Eurail and how to book reservations for these trains once they are in the pass network?

That’s right @eurocity101! As mentioned in the Rail Planner app, the route is expected to become part of the pass network by mid-summer. Beyond that, we don’t have any extra updates yet on pass validity or reservation details. Sorry we can’t share more at this point, but do keep an eye on the app and our official channels for any new info as it comes in. We really appreciate your patience!

The Paris - Lyon - Turin - Milan Frecciarossa is reportedly going to be added to passholder validity in the coming months but it has not happened yet and a firm date has not been published.

The only connection currently bookable for passholders is the TGV which you would have to connect to in Chambery, 15.49 or 16.08 departing from Lyon Part Dieu.

Alternately catch this train in Paris instead, 14.47 from Paris Gare De Lyon

The Rail Planner app can’t book anything and doesn't know whether a train is bookable. It just shows a price from a price table, that may or may not be correct.

Thanks everyone - has anyone heard an update on this? We're definitely mid-summer now so I'm becoming less and less optimistic it'll be in place :(

I’m also still needing to book this leg of my journey so am keeping a close eye on this thread and also periodically checking rail europe etc. for booking availability. Thanks all, Julia

Unfortunately the booking portal has changed today and this route no longer says it's expected to be added mid-summer, but now by the end of the year :(

Some more delays in the integration to the pass network of those trains:

Wouldn’t it be better to just mention “not in pass network” until these trains are actually becoming part of it? Such announcements in the railplanner app and the reservation system only frustrate travelers (see Iryo topic).
