Hi

I am travelling from Chur to Muenchen HBF via St Margrethen Sg Station and have to change train from platform 1 to Platform 3 at St Margrethen Sg Station.

I have a large suitcase with wheels.

What is the minimum time I need to change the platform?

Do I have to go up and down by stairs or there is escalator or lift at St Margrethen Sg Station?

Thanks

In that direction 1 min is enough. It is a small station. There are ramps but no escalators or lifts that I remember.

The direct train from Chur gives you 8 min to change which is more than enough.

EDIT: thinking about it, there might be a lift at the southern end of the platform. It will be signposted.

Yes there is a lift at the southern end (overpass) while there is a ramp to the subway in the northern end. I’d board in Chur in the very front or very end, so you will be close to one of those. I’d prefer ramps over lifts (as the latter can break down) but thats just a matter of taste, go for the path you feel more comfortable.

@Rakesh Chandu

Check the timetable on sbb.ch or in SBB Mobile app before departure. Sometimes EC from Zürich to München don’t stop in St. Margrethen SG due to engineering works.

I am traveling on 16th September and as per SBB mobile application train from St Margarethan to Munich is running. I am traveling from Chur to Munich. Thanks for your suggestion. I will again check on SBB mobile before boarding the train at Chur on 16th September.
